Born in 1962. 

From 2003 till 2011, Annemie painted in the atelier of Christos Vouyouklis in Watermael-Boitsfort. Since 2010, she has her own atelier in Leuven. 

Her paintings take us into an intimate universe dominated by muted colors. In her work, Annemie looks at the fundamental and universal aspects of human existence. Her figures are mute, isolated in their world, absorbed by emptiness, seemingly cut off, almost beyond our reach. A vision of humanity reduced to its essential solitude.

Her inspiration comes from her own photographs, from the web, newspapers or magazines. Sometimes they involve a model. The ideas arise from reflection and observation. To paint is a vital necessity for her. A form of expression that surpasses words.
